Last night (June 3), our class presented what we have done to the Camden select board. Our project is almost complete: we are now able to query data from the instruments, insert it into a dictionary with Python, then take that dictionary and sort it in a MySQL database. Heather is able to take the MySQL table and display it on the website.
Our presentation began with Louisa explaining our overarching goals and the necessity for instrumenting the dam. Next, Jesse explained which instruments we used and the details of coding. Jerin spoke to the lessons our class has learned and how we have improved as group workers, and Heather explained compiling all of the separate codes into one main code, querying data, and uploading it to the website.
There are still a few kinks. For one, the plot.ly graphs are still not working properly, and now Stuart is looking into alternative options. Heather is trying to make the website live by using a remote server that runs all the time, as right now the data querying stops when she turns off her computer. Jerin is continuing his work on the temperature sensors.

The select board and other town meeting goers were appreciative. Our class is thankful for undertaking such a hands-on, real-life, comprehensive project. The town values our work because it has taken the dam to a higher level technologically. We plan to have the website live by the end of the week.
