About us
We are a group of high school students in Camden, Maine. We have two major goals:
- to instrument the Seabright Dam, a local hydroelectric plant on the Megunticook River in Camden, with various instruments which will record data. These instruments will record: temperature, water level above and below dam, turbine speed, electricity production. Implementation of these instruments will bring the Seabright Dam up to date technologically. Though our project will not eliminate the need for an official to conduct daily checkins at the dam, our project will streamline those checkins and make them more efficient.
- to display data on a public website. This is one of the most important components of our project. We plan to make all of the data collected publicly available. There are many advantages to having this data publicly available: town residents will clearly see the value of owning a productive hydroelectric plant and teachers in the community could integrate the information into class curriculums.
