Today we have begun the beginning steps in understanding what exactly to do with the instruments and equipment we have received. In the image to the right taken last week, Phil and Jesse were working on getting the hubs set up-- which they did successfully considering now we have two working hubs that allow us to communicate with the sensors via usb cord (a vital part in the overall design).
Many of the things we are working on today are a continuation of the tasks we were working on during the last blog entry. Stuart is still working on mastering plot.ly, but has figured out way to graph active data points. By the end of this class he hopes to find a way to set interactive values to the x and y axis, for example, time would be set to the x-axis.
Jerin is currently trying to find a way to calibrate the temperature sensor with a Python code. Last class, both he and Heather discovered how to write to a MYSQL database with the help of our visitor, Nate. Today Heather is going to try to accomplish the task of being able to read the values that were sent to the server by the serial monitor.
